Wednesday was our first GTP Challenge race of the new season. Nine racers, 3 in GTP(C) and 6 in GTP, had a great time trying to take the top spot. GTP(C) is our entry level class where you must run the JK Mazda Dyson car exactly as you bought it. No modifications what-so-ever. An awesome class to get started in slot racing.
New racer Larry Born pulled out the win with a steady and consistent drive earning 147 laps. Steve Johnson overcame some gear issues and held on to second with 138 laps. Ed Reusch managed 135 laps after a last minute mechanical problem just before the green flap waved.
GTP is the next class up. It is the same car as GTP(C) but with a few minor changes allowed for the slightly more advanced racer. Jason Dennis ran a fast 194 laps and had the fastest race lap at 4.727. He took the checked flag only 5 laps ahead of Eric Balicki who early on gave Jason all he could handle. Kyle Snyder pulled of a third place finish with 177 laps.
Congrats to all………
